The perfect tense (regular) Hebben/zijn + the past participle. The past participle is made as follows: ge + stem + d (if the last letter of the stem is b, d, g, l, m, n, r, v, w, z, or a vowel) ge + stem + t (if the last letter of the stem is ch, f, k, p, s, t) werken > gewerkt > ik heb gewerkt maken > gemaakt > ik heb gemaakt bellen > gebeld > ik heb gebeld Mind the spelling rules!
